In 2000, a comic and controversial film called Battle Royale was released. In the film, dozens of Japanese high school students are given weapons on an island and forced to kill each other until one person is left.

Its plot is similar to "The Hunger Games", but "Battle Royale" is more brutal. There is no existing hero. Battle Royale is a dark, suspenseful, and violent film.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, a fast-paced game with a nonsense name, aims to recreate the tension and beauty of Battle Royale.

Incredibly, it succeeds.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") will be available from PCs and on Xbox. There is only one game. It's not complete - the game is in "early access", which means it's not over, but you can buy it and start playing now.

Nine months after receiving it, PUBG has sold over 20 million copies. It is the most viewed game on Twitch, the world's largest streaming platform. It's our number one sport of the year.

So what? Why is this game exploding? Here's the deal.

Every game starts out the same: You're on a plane with 100 other people. It was the most depressing flight I've ever seen.

The plane is a visual representation of an online lobby, but it serves another purpose: you choose when to leave, and that choice is important because the next step is parachuting to a largely isolated island.

As you parachute in, you will see other players doing the same. This is where the game begins - the eyebrows of the other players, floating to your exact death.

Since every player starts with their clothes, the first 10 minutes of each match is a fight for weapons, weapons, vehicles, and defense. After landing, it is crazy to carry as many weapons and items as you can in the middle of the map. Who was the last player to win the match?

However, as the game progresses, there is a ring that slowly closes toward the center of the map. If you get caught outside the ring, your character will die.
